Founded in 1832 and granted a Royal Charter in 1837, Durham University is arguably the third oldest university in England
With 140 degree programmes across a broad range of subjects, University of Durham has one of the widest range of course studies in the UK. The campus at Durham is notably beautiful, with 63 listed buildings including a 1930s Art Deco chapel and an 11th century castle, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
